Overview

Provide temporary relief and ease the emotional and physical toll for the primary caregiver.

Nobody can function in any role 24/7 without a break, but that is exactly what caregivers do. You’re always on alert and taking time away from the role seems impossible and hard to manage. At Longleaf, our respite care options allow primary caregivers to take a break, reconnect, disconnect or tend to their individual needs. Home care patients can be admitted to a local facility for a maximum of 5 consecutive days. This is done to provide temporary relief to a patient’s primary caregiver and guarantee the patient’s needs are met.

Taking care of the caregiver.

Caregiving is one of the hardest jobs in the world. You cannot stop the impact of a chronic or progressive illness on someone you care about. The stress of what you’re doing is real and Longleaf is here to help.

We believe that only when we first help ourselves can we effectively help others. Caring for yourself is one of the most important—and most often forgotten—things you can do as a caregiver. Our staff is here to provide relief when needed and help you navigate overwhelming emotions such as such as resentment, fear and anxiety.
