Grief Support Groups

Grief and Bereavement Support Groups can support you during the natural grieving process.

Overview

Alleviating the Grieving Process

When you lose a family member or a friend, life changes in the blink of an eye. In such moments, coping with emptiness and sadness can be difficult. That is why so many grieving individuals choose to attend grief support groups to connect with people in a similar experience.

At Longleaf Hospice & Palliative Care, we understand that mourning is a natural response to any loss you experience in your life. Our team consists of highly trained, kind, and professional members who deliver a custom care plan for alleviating the grieving process and improving quality of life.

Will a Grief Support Group Help With the Healing Process?

At Longleaf Hospice & Palliative Care, we create a supportive space for people of every walk of life—children, adults, and families. Learning how to deal with the death of a loved one feels overwhelming. However, it doesn’t mean that you have to do it alone. Gathering in a grief support group once a week or bi-weekly allows people to communicate with others who go through the same events and life stages.

Grief Support Groups

At Longleaf Hospice & Palliative Care, we have various available groups and services to start your healing process.

According to our experience, men mourn in silence and isolation, so they require a specific approach. Grief and bereavement groups for men allow adults and teenagers to get through their feelings and pain.

Our groups and programs can benefit you in many ways, including:

  • Learning to process emotions in a healthy way
  • Learning mental health treatments
  • Receiving encouragement from support experts

Dealing with unfortunate events and a huge loss of a significant person becomes one of the most difficult periods in one’s life. Despite being surrounded by friends and families, it is hard to feel understood. Our support groups for women allow you to lean on other adults who have experienced a similar situation and find comfort.

Whether you are dealing with the death of a child, spouse, or another significant person in your life, rest assured you’ll find the groups you need to start the healing process.

Our online support groups for younger women offer a safe and welcoming space where you can wrap your head around your emotions at your own time and pace. After registration, you will gain access to professional medical advice and additional resources to help you recover from the unfortunate events in the past.

We offer general support groups for men and women of all ages. Let’s review what you can expect when you or your child join our group and support program.

  • A safe community where you can share your story
  • A place for establishing a friendly connection with other children or adults to decrease emotions and concerns that grief brings
  • A group for learning that people grieve in different ways, all of which are acceptable
  • A group for acquiring grief support resources, learning new coping skills, stress management skills, and relaxation techniques
  • Online or in-person groups meeting once or twice a week at various locations
